Many of us have overspent in the last few days due to buying gifts for both our loved ones and for our favorite Presidents. (I got Grover Cleveland a neat pair of socks!) Because of that, below you'll find a short list of new DVDs along with the very free, (and very cool), new show that debuts today on Crackle: Trenches. As usual a special thanks goes to Iddo the Intern both for his work on the list and for that box of delicious chocolate nut clusters.

Trenches (click to watch on Crackle)
Online auteur Shane Felux, a man who managed to impress George Lucas with his fan film Star Wars "Revelations", has taken sci-fi web series to a whole new level with today's three episode launch of Trenches. It's taken years to get this series out to the public, but I think you'll agree that is was worth the wait. Starring: Mercy Malick, Aaron Mathias, Micci Sampery, Daz Crawford, Lev Gorn, Kelley Slagle, Chaney Tullos, Orlando Williams-De La Rosa.

Law Abiding Citizen (click for Amazon purchase)
Blow-up thriller in which a man tries to extract justice from an assistant district attorney and a legal system that let his wife and child's killers go free. Starring: Jamie Foxx, Gerard Butler, Colm Meaney, Bruce McGill, Leslie Bibb, Regina Hall Crackle Alternative: If it's revenge you want, check out a humorous take on this dish best served cold. Starring Royal Pains' Mark Feuerstein, watch a man unravel a child's bar mitzvah in The Hustler. Or if you need another "fake" American plowing through the scenery there's always Russell Crowe in No Way Back, an outlandish Mob vs. Yakuza tale that also features Michael Lerner from The Bannen Way.

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

A meth addicted mom loses her husband to a younger woman, then indulges in an array of erotic adventures while heading toward a quiet nervous breakdown. Starring: Audrey Tautou, Benoît Poelvoorde, Alessandro Nivola, Marie Gillain. Crackle Alternative: We have two prime alternatives, one dealing with fashion -- the other dealing with orphans. Watch Moe, Larry and Curly get into the ladies fashion business in The Three Stooges: Slippery Silks (Minisode preview below). Or if you want to see an orphan triumph over all, we have some classic Jackie Chan for you to explore with Snake In The Eagle's Shadow.

Clint Eastwood: 35 Films 35 Years at Warner Bros. (click for Amazon purchase)
Clint Eastwood’s entire filmography at Warner Bros. -- 35 films on 19 discs including commentaries and featurettes. (Dirty Harry, Every Which Way But Loose, Mystic River, etc.) Starring: Clint Eastwood Crackle Alternative: One of Eastwood's inspirations was legendary Western director, Budd Boetticher. You can read more about Boetticher here, or you can try for yourself to see what Clint saw by checking out Comanche Station and Buchanan Rides Alone yourself. But if you're actually looking for a goofy Clint Eastwood temporary tattoo template: check this out.

So get your first look at Trenches, buy some DVDs and tell us what you like about both below.
