The Action Flick Chick makes her triumphant return to Crackle! The last time she gave us the run down on the horror flick Silent Hill, now she's taking her rightful place on the action throne with her Get Some Action perspective on the female fuled kung-fu picture Rage and Honor.

One thing I love about going back and watching a '90s movie is the ridiculous fads that were so commonplace. The best '90s item in Rage and Honor is, without a doubt, the mullet. The '90s were a simpler time, where mullets were all the rage, and the more powerful the mullet, the more powerful the villain. So, when you see that a movie baddie is rockin’ a mighty mullet, you know it’s going to be a good time for all. With a mullet this powerful, how can anyone defeat him?!? Gasp! It’s impossible! Don’t lose hope my friend, Kris (Cynthia Rothrock) and Preston (Richard Norton) are here to take on the challenge and save us all from the Mighty Morphin Mullet Ranger!

Rage and Honor follows the troubles of one Australian police officer, Preston, trying to adapt to the American lifestyle. Preston is just trying to do the right thing by busting drug dealers, while his police co-workers are just trying to deal drugs. They go head to head causing the bad cops to call in every reinforcement they have, everything from your common back-alley thugs, to other drug dealers, to pirate ninja zombie monkeys. Meanwhile the only person Preston teams up with is Kris, a martial arts instructor. Fortunately, the two of them are more competent than any combination of thugs, drugs, and pirate ninja zombie monkeys, and together they kick a lot of ass as they try to interrupt the drug dealers’ smooth operation and clear up a misunderstanding.

Rage and Honor delivers well paced and fun to watch action. What’s better than having a leading lady who kicks ass on screen and in real life paired with a guy who kicks ass on screen and in real life!?! Both Rothrock and Norton are trained martial artists. Rothrock is a five time World Karate Champion while Norton co-created a hybrid martial art Zen Do Kai. They make a great team, often challenging each other to fights instead of dating each other. In fact, Rage and Honor has a lot of strong female characters which is always a bonus in my book.

The Mighty Morphin Mullet Ranger’s actual name is Conrad Drago (Brian Thompson). Now that is a pretty good bad guy name, although mine is way better! In retrospect, if you want your child to grow up to become an evil drug lord who kills people, name them Conrad Drago and your wish will surely come true. With a name like that the poor bugger was destined for action movie villainy.

Rage and Honor is an often overlooked and very enjoyable 90’s action flick, and the best part is that you can watch it right here on Crackle. So do it! NOW!

Time Until the Crap Gets Real: ~ 6 minutes

Baddies: Crooked cops and drug dealers!

Best Line: When Preston walks into the middle of a baddie hang out he says, “This is one weird bloody Tupperware party.” What are you talking about?

Best Kill: Spoiler Alert! The big baddie, Mighty Morphin Mullet Ranger, is fighting with Preston on the roof of a building. When it looks like the Mighty Morphin Mullet Ranger will win, Preston manages to throw Mighty Morphin Mullet Ranger off the edge. When he looks down to see the damage, Mullet Ranger has pipes sticking out of his chest. NOO! GO GO MULLET RANGER!

Best Explosion: I don’t think there was an explosion in this film. They liked to keep it simple by kicking ass with their bare hands… or slapping asses with their bare feet. Whatever. You get the picture.

Action Rating: 2 90’s Mullets, out of 5.

This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass!

Of course if you love Rage and Honor, you can always check out the sequel, Rage and Honor II, right here on Crackle.
