The This Is It Countdown: #4 Black or White
Amber reminisces about looking at the future with Michael Jackson.

Michael looked at the future with Black Or White.

Black or White was the cultural event of my fourth grade year. Not only would I have been ostracized by my peers for not showing interest, but I was more than happy to watch anything that The Simpson’s deemed as important. When the night came, I watched the whole video on my own, without any parental supervision. Therefore, I got to watch all of it, unlike some of my peers who had the TV turned off by their over protective parents as soon as the car window smashing began.

This video is great fun to watch. The multi-cultural dancing and costumes are visually pleasing, along with getting to watch Jackson dance with them.  The opening sequence with Macaulay Culkin and George Wendt speaks to every child, (...and really every adult's), dream to put their nay-saying parents in their place. But my favorite part is the morphing at the end of the video. Something about it captured my imagination. I had seen the future, and damn did it look cool.
