For a little more than half a decade I've been working at Sony doing all sorts of things. I started in the editorial department helping the team that edits the swears and naughty bits out of movies for TV and airline versions. Then I worked as an assistant for the people that sell the films to TV. Then I made Minisodes, worked with Michael Buckley and watched way too many episodes of Q*Bert (watch now?). Then for the past two years I've worked on this blog. Well, time has come to move on and say farewell, and I could think of nothing better than lay out some great quotes from the end of some of my favorite films (Warning: nothing but spoilers below). ... In the last few weeks they've handed out the GRAMMY's and the Oscars, and to celebrate these two art forms Crackle presents the Movies that Rock Collection. Turn your volume up to 11, and dive in ... ... Read More »

Today, Crackle's new film is none other than the David Spade classic, Joe Dirt (watch now). Considered nothing more than a lowbrow comedy in some circles, between you me and the rest of the internet this movies more than the story of a "white-trash" hero ... it's an opportunity for Oscar winner Christopher Walken to show the world his range. The fact is that you can find Award Winners in some interesting places, and that's what Crackle's Award Winner Collection is for. ... Read More »

With a good movie thriller you can viscerally feel a life or death struggle. The amazing thing is that it's really just two adults being paid obscene amounts of money to play pretend. In the perfect follow up to Valentine's day, we present Crackle's Deadly Games Collection where you can sit at the edge of your seat and watch people's lives get shredded. ... Read More »

Today's addition to Crackle's Blockbusters Collection has Tom Hanks, Ian McKellen, Audrey Tautou -- and everyone's favorite Frenchman -- Jean Reno. The Da Vinci Code (watch now) is a murder mystery blockbuster that pits Hank's "Robert Landon" an ancient mystery, and it's an entertaining yarn to say the least. It's also a great example of just how much people like stories about games and puzzles. Below we'll take a closer look at the seven kind of movies all about puzzles and games. ... Read More »

Crackle is going big for the smallest month. We continue with new movies every week day, but starting today we're also building out something we're calling the Blockbusters Collection -- a collection of movies with big talent and big box office. We begin with the cute 'lil comedy that launched the big screen careers of Michael Bay,Will Smith and Martain Lawrence: Bad Boys (watch now). The movie is iconic now, but would it have been a landmark blockbuster if Dana Carvey and John Lovitz had starred in it as originally intended? ... Read More »

The 2009/2010 film season seems to have been all about Jeff Bridges. The son of acting legend Lloyd Bridges and brother of Beau, he's managed to make his career a unique and special one. Whether he's playing an arch villain in Iron Man or the ultimate slacker icon in The Big Lebowski, there really isn't a role out there that can't apply to someone. Saturday's entry into the New Movie for the New Year Collection was one of the best films of 1984, Starman (watch now), and in addition to that we also want to present to you The Jeff Bridges Collection. ... Baron Munchausen, the Definition of Film Fantasy

When looking at today's entry into the New Movie for the New Year Collection, it struck me that the genre known as "Fantasy" is maligned, triumphed and overwhelmingly broad all at the same time. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (watch now) is fantastical, bizarre, odd, crazy, and as fantastical as can be. My question to you is, does this film share a storytelling footprint with a film coming to theaters today, The Mechanic (watch trailer)? ... Read More »
